Senior Salesforce Developer / Architect

About the Role

DMVTEK is seeking a highly experienced Senior Salesforce Developer/Architect to support a long-term federal initiative. This full-time role is ideal for professionals who excel in architecting enterprise Salesforce solutions, leading technical design, and driving end-to-end platform development. The position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings in the Washington, DC area.

As a Senior Salesforce Developer/Architect, you will play a key role in designing, building, optimizing, and supporting mission-critical Salesforce applications that impact real-world operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to architectural decision-making, and ensure all solutions meet the highest standards of quality, security, and scalability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Salesforce solutions across multiple business areas
  • Manage all aspects of Salesforce (SFDC) including complex configuration, customization, and third-party integrations
  • Develop high-quality code using Apex, LWC, Flows, and modern Salesforce development frameworks
  • Participate in application design, configuration, testing, deployment, and documentation
  • Build, integrate, and optimize Service Cloud features (Omni-Channel, Live Agent, Case Management)
  • Create and maintain system documentation including design specifications, integration diagrams, and data models
  • Analyze input/output requirements, data flow, software needs, and provide alternative solution recommendations
  • Perform operational support, enhancements, and bug fixes as needed
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate records in ticketing systems
  • Conduct code reviews and collaborate with development teams to ensure alignment with the architectural vision
  • Provide technical assistance and end-user support for complex issues, enhancements, and platform guidance
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to refine design standards, development processes, and operational practices
  • Research emerging technologies and independently resolve complex technical challenges

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 12+ years of overall IT experience, with a strong focus on enterprise systems
  • 8+ years of Salesforce Lightning development, including:
    • Apex
    • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
    • Process Automation (Flows, Process Builder, Workflow)
    • Lightning App Builder
  • Salesforce Architect-level Certification required:
    • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or
    • Salesforce Certified Application Architect
  • 5+ years of Service Cloud implementation experience, including Omni-Channel, Live Agent, and Case Management
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce CLI, VS Code, GitLab, and modern DevOps pipelines
  • Experience with system integration, API design, and ICD documentation
  • Strong background with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead technical design discussions and guide development teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on federal or public-sector projects
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Government Cloud and FedRAMP frameworks
  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II certification
  • Experience with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solutions
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities

  • Remote work permitted
  • Preference for candidates in the Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia (DMV) region
  • East Coast candidates who can work EST hours are strongly preferred
